A mid-century home in Balwyn with brick, timber, and a low horizontal line that asks for a particular kind of furniture. Get it wrong and the rooms fight the architecture.
We ran the Californian Considered set, walnut and textured linen, leather and travertine, silhouettes chosen for restraint. A long low sofa sat with the lines of the room rather than across them.
The Brief
Honour the period without turning it into a theme. Considered, not nostalgic.
The styling
The formal living kept a single piece of art and a sculptural chair, enough to hold the eye without filling the space.
In the bedrooms we stayed quiet, layered neutrals and warm timber, so the home read as one continuous thought.
